WDP would like to take this opportunity to clarify its position regarding the Millennium_ Series.
WDP always has, and intends to continue to be a supporter of the Millennium Series. However, recent politics, policies and a lack of genuine traffic at the events has lead WDP to reassess its sponsorship commitments towards the Millennium Series.
WDP will no longer be supporting the Millennium series as a Platinum sponsor unless there is a dramatic change in the attitude towards the players, vendors and sponsors. Until these attitudes change_ WDP will only be involved at a GOLD sponsor level - which, due to Millennium policy means no on-site tech facilities.
Millennium series is the only one where manufacturers are forced to sponsor at a platinum level in order to be able to tech their customers guns. The NPPL for example -_ which as most of you will know WDP are closely associated with through Pure Promotions -_allows all sponsors at every level to tech their customers guns at their events and we believe that the PSP do the same. We feel that this is the correct way for tournament organisers to handle the need for manufacturers to give their customers the technical support they wish to provide to their customers at major events. In turn this also helps to ensure players enjoy these events, which in turn helps the event organisers to keep things running smoothly on and off the field._ Therefore everyone benefits from the fact that manufacturers are prepared to invest the money required to provide this support at major events, as such forcing them to pay for a platinum sponsorship in addition to the cost of providing this service is counter productive to players and sponsors alike. WDP pride themselves in the fact that we provide the highest levels of customer service and product support and from 1997 we have set the standard for on site tech support and we were actually the first ever company in paintball to commit to providing quality tech support at all major events. Therefore we have not taken this decision lightly as we regard it to be a retrograde step for paintball, but unfortunately due to the attitude of the Millennium we feel that we have no choice but to make a stand on this issue._
