Millennium Press Release 6/06/07

Following the Millenniums decision to temporally ban the use of Stako bottles on Sunday the 20/05/2007 after the discovery of a number of bottles that appeared to be leaking and without further investigation and information obtained, a potential risk of injury to both players and staff was identified, the Millennium is pleased to announce that the full cooperation of the manufacturer, Stako, has been forthcoming in the on going investigation. Stako themselves will be carrying out rigorous tests and checks along with independent tests been carried out in the UK. It is hoped that these tests and the actions taken by Stako will result in the Millennium being able to lift the imposed safety Ban in time for the next event held in London UK. In the mean time however the ban is to remain in place until the Millennium is satisfied beyond doubt of the safety of these bottles.

The Millennium would once again like to thank all the teams who co-operated so helpfully on the day to allow the event to finish without to much delay and the wonderful co-operation from all the trade who helped with the supply of loan bottles to effected teams. We also thank you all for your understanding that the decision we had to make was based solely on the real concern of the health and safety of the public, our customers (the players) and our staff.

Stako has just released their website dedicated to their lightweight tanks meant for use in paintball.

The website contains basic information about how the product works and how they should be handled to ensure no problems with their performance. The website is http://www.stakopaintball.com.

STAKO has also published a report on the production process of the tanks by TUV Nord Polska, and independent certification and auditing company. The auditors examined manufacturer's quality assurance procedures and performed quality control tests on a sample of tanks, including a leaking one that has been returned by a customer.

The report concludes that STAKO executed all necessary procedures to
determine the cause of leaks and recommends increased quality control in the future to ensure safety to the customers using the aforementioned tanks.

When contacted for further information, Mr. Arek Kubasik, Commercial
Director at Stako, stated that the website will help the customers and
industry specialists to better understand how their lightweight tank works and expressed his belief that the Millennium League in cooperation with H-PAC-the air suppliers for the circuit, will remove the ban on Stako tanks in the next few weeks.

STAKO Ban Lifted

The Millennium are pleased to announce that following a full investigation by STAKO and a report produce by the TUV of Poland and that of H pac the Millennium air supplier, that the tempory ban on the use of their compressed air cylinders is now lifted. Hpac confirm that any bottle that appears to be leaking or is damaged in any way, regardless of manufacture, will not be filled on the grounds of health and safety.

We are also pleased to announce that the company STAKO will be represented at the remaining millennium events starting in London on the 20th July.
